Former President Clinton’s opinion on marriage equality has done a 180 on how he sees the world in the past few years, thanks to some eye-opening by his daughter, Chelsea Clinton. During his presidency, Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), denying same-sex couples the federal benefits enjoyed by married couples. Now, he’s fighting his former self  to have the act repealed. Yes, he’s come to his senses – finally!
“Whenever we turn away from treating someone with the dignity and honor and the respect that we would like accorded to ourselves, we have to face the fact it’s about us.” — Former President Bill Clinton at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards
“I want to keep working on this until not only is DOMA no longer the law of the land, but until all people — no matter where they live — can marry the people they love,” Clinton told the crowd at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, with Chelsea by his side. Keep Reading »

You know how sometimes you make photocopies of a document and mark the original just so you remember which it is? Well if you were the American Medical Association and that document was our food, you’d say “Who Cares?” Here’s how self-contradicting the AMA is: In its statement, the AMA’s Dr. Patrice Harris said that their position recognizes that currently there is no evidence of materials differences or safety concerns in available bioengineered foods. See how she slipped in “currently?” Yeah, me too, and it makes me think Keep Reading »

No GMO - Paula Patrice
The United States grows more varieties of GM crops than any other country, including maize, soybeans, cotton, canola, sugarbeet, alfalfa, papaya and squash. Global area planted with biotech crops increased by 10 percent last year to reach 148m hectares, making it the fastest adopted crop technology in the history of modern agriculture, according to a new analysis. The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications (ISAAA), a non-profit organization which promotes the adoption of biotech crops, said in its new report that the United States still uses more genetically modified (GM) seeds than any other country, but Brazil had the largest increase for the second year running, with area planted to biotech crops rising 19 percent in 2010. Commercial planting of GM crops began in 1996, with 1.7m hectares planted that year, and over 15 years of cultivation, the total area devoted to GM crops increased 87-fold, to reach 148m hectares in 2010. ISAAA said that adoption rates in developing nations exceeded those in industrialized countries last year and it expects the trend to continue…. Click to read the entire article.

Dear Friends:

I have the distinguished honor of being on the committee to raise $5,000,000 for a monument of George W. Bush.

We originally wanted to put him on Mt. Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for two more faces.Bush Throws like a Girl

We then decided to erect a statue of George W in the Washington, D.C. Hall Of Fame. We were in a quandary as to where the statue should be placed.
It was not proper to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside Richard Nixon, who never told the truth, since George could never tell the difference.

We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Republican of them all.
He didn't know where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was.
He returned not knowing where he had been, destroyed the well-being of the majority of the population while he was there, and did it all on someone else's money.

Thank you.

(so far we have collected $1.35)

who really is making decisions about our collective financial future?Money mouth

it's simple: anchor our monetary system with real assets like gold, and fight inflation by fighting the Fed.

there's much to learn here:

i've said it many times – i wonder what our future holds.

i fear for future generations given the leadership we have in place at this time.

that said, im not sure the other side of the fence is any better!

Please support MoveOn.org and push for REAL PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP that we can all be proud of!

It appears I left Ben speechless, no? I hope he has political aspirations. We need more young, active democrats and his popularity would make a difference. Washingtonians Rock!! I had a great time at the 2004 White House Correspondents Dinner. I must say, better conversation than usual. I’ll post more pics when I have them.
